    Default How to rename the Recycled Bin!

    To change the name of the Recycle Bin desktop icon, open Regedit and go to:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/CLSID/{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

    and change the name "Recycle Bin" to whatever you want (don't type any quotes).

    props to FreePCTech

    Edit: It appears to not work for some people. If you have Vista, you can probably just right-click. -maXimus

    Remember that changes to the Windows Registry - which is what Regedit is for - can have dramatic (i.e. damaging) effects on your system.

    I'm sure you're OK, Stephuhnator, because you've been successfully modding your phones for a long time now, but others reading this should proceed with caution if they're not used to getting fairly deep into the 'workings' of their computer.

    I have done very little hacking to the regedit (as per Graeme's warning) but I'll give this one a try to see if I can do it and report back!

    I tried it and it stayed in the regedit but didn't change on the desktop! Maybe just right-click and "rename"!!!!!!!!!!

    When I right-click the Recycle Bin I don't have the Rename option :p
    It let me rename it in regedit, but didn't change the name on the desktop
