Since I use avast! Free Antivirus on my laptop.

I thought to make this thread to keep the members of the forum that are using it on there systems to stay up to date & give the latest info about it.
Hopefully there's some here that use it.

How does it compare to AVG? I've been using AVG for several years now and have no complaints.

I used to use AVG also, but it started to get bloated, more false positives & starting to be a resource hog.

I like avast free because it's got lesser false positives then AVG, not bloated. It's also much lighter on system resources.
On my laptop I have it setup to do a full scan daily at 11:30 am it auto updates every hour.

I also have Malwarebytes & SuperAntiSpyware free versions which I manually keep updated & run a manual full system scan of both about every 4 weeks or when I think I might give a scan. Also I use common sense I don't go clicking random advertisements on websites. " Click here win & a free ipad" I don't download random executable's off the internet & run them. In Windows 7 I have the folder option set to show all file extensions. I also use the Online VirusTotal website.

I have only had one fairly minor spyware infection (Kept opening new tabs in Web browser till it crashed)
Which was easily fixed with running a Quick scan using Malwarebytes.

Another than this, I have had no other virus/spyware problems. The setup I have works pretty well for me.
