Default Apple stopping the ability to downgrade with SHSH blobs

In another move to combat jailbreaking, Apple is aggressively taking steps to make it nearly impossible to downgrade your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to a jailbreakable firmware. At the moment, iOS device owners can save their SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella or Cydia for use later to downgrade or restore to a firmware lower than the current release.

It may not be totally impossible to downgrade or restore to a different firmware version but it will definitely be more difficult. There is a good explanation of how firmwares are signed but there is no indication of whether the Dev Team will be able to combat it. For now, they will stay quiet and watch the betas. You can read the explanation on the Dev Team blog.

The Dev Team really isn't saying a whole lot yet since we are in betas now. But we'll see what happens when the final release drops.
