    Your control file looks fine. How are you previewing the .deb?

    I haven't tried it yet but you can edit it in the Linux text editor.

    i know that but i just dont understand how a user could upload a theme/app with description etc and then it will be turned into a deb file and then for the command dpkg-scanpackages to be run and then for the packages file to be bziped and gzipped.

    What auto repo packager are you talking about? Maybe we're not talking about the same thing.

    This was working fine for me the other day, I reinstalled Fink today because I'm getting an error:

    Code:
    failed to open package info file `MyProgram1/DEBIAN/control' for reading: No such file or directory
    Even after re-installing I'm getting the error, what could be causing this? I've made no changes to my control file since my last successful build

    Do you have any spaces in your package name? For example, you shouldn't use "My Package", you should use "MyPackage". If that's not the issue, are you using any special characters in the name? Try to limit the package name to letters and numbers only. Post your 'control' so that I can see it please.

    Hi there.

    First : compliments for making such a tutorial for making your own repo.

    I've managed to get everything working, except for one thing :

    When I install my theme in Cydia, it seems to work, it shows the theme in the theme folder when I look in it with iFunBox. The (sub)directories like Bundles etc. are in the right places, but when I activate it in Winterboard it doesn't show, or it doesn't show correctly. When I upload the directory manually, it seems to work fine.

    What could be wrong here ?

    The .deb file is made from the following dir :

    MyTheme -> DEBIAN / Library ->

    DEBIAN -> control
    Library -> Themes -> MyTheme.theme -> Bundles, UUImages, etc.

    Can't figure out where it goes wrong......
