Musclenerd, of the Dev Team, has reported that it may be possible that comex will release another userland jailbreak, a la jailbreakme.com, for the upcoming iOS4.1. It's also possible that there is a bootrom jailbreak although that would take much more time to release than the userland jailbreak because of the time it will take to perfect the jailbreak, package and release it to the masses.

Apple has made the latest rendition of iTunes (iTunes 10) available for download. It contains the new social network for music program called Ping. At the moment, the new iTunes is compatible with the latest jailbreak and unlock solutions (according to Musclenerd of the Dev Team). It appears the DFU mode, syncing and custom ipsw's are all still ok. As of this writing, the only issue seems to be with Wi-Fi Sync which is no longer working.

When Steve Jobs announced the impending releases of iOS4.1 and 4.2 it was announced that the iPad will finally get iOS4.x support. Reportedly, iOS4.2 will be released sometime in November and will include the iPad support. Finally Apple will have brought all the new devices in line with the latest firmware releases.

Apple revealed it's new Apple TV device and although it's much smaller than it's predecessor, it packs a big punch. This streaming-only device is only 1/4 the size of the previous model. It also has it's own built-in power supply, ethernet connection, 802.11n wireless and HDMI.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Another of Apple's signature products, the iPod Nano, has now followed the iPod and gone "touch." But not only has it gone "touch" but it has gone "multitouch." Apple has gotten rid of the click wheel and surprisingly gotten rid of the camera as well. What is left is definitely a thing of beauty!

Here's a new app. available by the name of Auto3G on Big Boss repository, this app basically turns off the 3G radio and switches to 2G (EDGE) when you lock your phone, and turns it back on as soon as you slide-to-unlock your phone again. Obviously, you need your phone be JB and have 3G to use it.

Google has updated their Mobile app for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad with push notifications for Gmail and Calendar. It even gives you as-you-type results for weather, stock quotes, currency exchanges and flight information. This is a nice addition to the app but personally I would love to have seen more. Facebook has recently launched a geotagging feature called "Places" that allows users to "check in" and various places at any given time. This will allow the user to comment on their location to let their friends know where they are, allow them to give some sort of recommendation or just keep track of each other.
