• A look at the new iOS 5 activation process

Here is a look at the new activation process in iOS 5 via screenshots. As you can see, you can now activate your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad without connecting to a computer or to iTunes. I recommend using iTunes to backup and restore the first time. But after that, restoring your backup via iCloud is easy.

After updating from iOS 5 beta 1 to iOS 5 beta 2, once I entered in my iCloud credentials, it took less than a minute to restore all my data (calls, SMS messages, settings, page settings, folder settings, etc.). Once that was done, all my apps started downloading immediately. It was a fast easy process!
