If you have an iPhone 3G or iPod Touch 2G and it's jailbroken, you may have recently seen the screen above when you entered Cydia. Don't worry, it wasn't an error by the Cydia server. It is actually requesting to save your SHSH files as it does with the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G.
With the iOS4 software, Apple is now requiring a "soft" SHSH blob check for the earlier devices. If you try to restore to 4.0, for example, iTunes will error out. But luckily you have a couple of choices. You can use redsn0w or PwnageTool to get past the error or you can restore to any of the earlier 3.x firmware files, unlike the new bootrom devices.
So, when you see the above message in Cydia, my suggestion is to make life easier!
