64 bit windows is backwards compatible with 32 bit software...the operating system should not be a problem at all, your problem may lie elsewhere

i am running 64 bit vista, and i have iTunes running perfectly, I didn't do anything special, just double clicked the exe and clicked next. Don't look for a 64-bit version of itunes. Try installing the lastest on www.itunes.com (http://www.itunes.com).

if worse comes to worse and you get desperate, look into creating a virtual machine, just a warning though if your not tech savy stay away from them

read this it may help

I understand the hard drive space thing, I've got a 1TB external and a public server with around 600GB roughly (PM for login details if your curious) , but i just dont think i can comprehend more than 4GB of ram, why not just use virtual swap space and save the money lol thats what i do, under XP i set my page file to be 4GB and under linux my swaps about the same size, its barely slower than real ram, but its hella cheaper :D

I collect movies and TV shows, so i need the space, i used to have an entire 750GB filled with nothing but HQ avi's, the drive crashed and so i need to buy another one for parts but a new 750 IDE these days isnt worth the data...

anyways, to your real problem, i dont know why your having problems, iTunes 7.6 allowed support for 64-bit vista, and i always assumed XP64 was supported, what kind of error are you getting on install
