You should start with a jailbroken iPhone with OpenSSH installed. You should reboot after installing OpenSSH. Download and install the latest stable version of WinSCP before beginning.
Step 1
You need the IP address assigned to your phone by your Wi-Fi. You can find it in Settings>Wi-Fi Networks:
This has to be the simplest and smallest jailbreak (less than 400K) I have seen in a long time!!! It took me less than 8 minutes to do it but it will take me longer to write this guide, about 20-30 minutes, than it did to actually do the jailbreak! You need to be running an iPhone 3.0 on a 3GS (do not upgrade to 3.1 or 3.1 beta). This guide was done with XP. Vista may or may not work. Stay away from Windows 7 for now.

I have heard that you only need one but to be on the safe side, I have already gotten my ECID and now have my iBEC and iBSS files. YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO THIS TWICE. If you do this right, you can get both files during a DFU restore. You do not need a normal Recovery mode restore. I have done this four times already with the same results and success.
