Apple has made the latest rendition of iTunes (iTunes 10) available for download. It contains the new social network for music program called Ping. At the moment, the new iTunes is compatible with the latest jailbreak and unlock solutions (according to Musclenerd of the Dev Team). It appears the DFU mode, syncing and custom ipsw's are all still ok. As of this writing, the only issue seems to be with Wi-Fi Sync which is no longer working.

Today Apple introduced Ping, a social network for music. If you haven't gotten enough of social networking with Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, LinkedIn, etc. then here's another one that's bound to take music lovers by storm. Not only will you be able to follow your friends, but you'll be able to see their music likes and dislikes as well as share your own. But following your friends isn't the only thing you can do.

When Steve Jobs announced the impending releases of iOS4.1 and 4.2 it was announced that the iPad will finally get iOS4.x support. Reportedly, iOS4.2 will be released sometime in November and will include the iPad support. Finally Apple will have brought all the new devices in line with the latest firmware releases.

At the keynote address today by Steve Jobs, Apple announed the upcoming release of iOS4.1 and 4.2 (coming sometime in November). The release of iOS4.1 will supposedly resolve some of the most pesky issues of late such as the proximity sensor issues, Bluetooth issues and the degraded performance issues of iOS4.x running on the iPhone 3G.

Apple revealed it's new Apple TV device and although it's much smaller than it's predecessor, it packs a big punch. This streaming-only device is only 1/4 the size of the previous model. It also has it's own built-in power supply, ethernet connection, 802.11n wireless and HDMI.

Apple went backwards in time with the iPod Shuffle update. They brought back the buttons (that so many of us missed) and made it even smaller than the previous version of similar design. It also comes in a decent array of colors to suit anyone.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Another of Apple's signature products, the iPod Nano, has now followed the iPod and gone "touch." But not only has it gone "touch" but it has gone "multitouch." Apple has gotten rid of the click wheel and surprisingly gotten rid of the camera as well. What is left is definitely a thing of beauty!

Today Apple announced the latest generation iPod Touch 4th generation. This has to be the iPod that is the closest to being an iPhone than any other generation iPod Touch, without the phone capabilities. It's much thinner than the original, includes the Retina display, has the Apple A4 chip, front and back cameras with Facetime support and 3-axis gyroscope.

Here's a new app. available by the name of Auto3G on Big Boss repository, this app basically turns off the 3G radio and switches to 2G (EDGE) when you lock your phone, and turns it back on as soon as you slide-to-unlock your phone again. Obviously, you need your phone be JB and have 3G to use it.

According to CNET, Microsoft's Dharmesh Mehta has reported that Hotmail will get Exchange ActiveSync on Monday August 30th, 2010. This will allow Hotmail uses to get push email notifications on their cell phones and other mobile devices. Unfortunately there are some devices that do not support multiple exchange accounts but for users of the latest iPhone 4, Palm Pre and the coming Windows 7 devices, this will be very useful.

Read an article on an Australian news website (The Age which took the article from Mashable.com) which I`ll post below...but it has since been removed for whatever reason.

It's about a patent Apple applied for that will allow it to kill off jailbroken iphones under the pretense of protecting the user. The quote below virtually somes up the article.

"In other words, the system described in the patent allow Apple to effectively kill jailbroken devices under the guise of protecting customers from theft, since it may not be able to determine whether a device has been stolen or if it is being willingly jailbroken by users."
